A New Global Heatflow Compilation

UPDATE: 02 October 2012: An updated heatflow database, with about 50,000 points is available at the University of North Dakota site at http://www.heatflow.und.edu/index2.html. That database consists of a compilation by Derrick Hasterok.

If seismologists wish to include mineral physics information in seismological modeling, they need independent information about the geotherm in the crust and lithosphere. We (Masters et al.) have therefore started to compile global heatflow data. We started with the compilation of Pollack et al. (1993) and have now almost doubled the size of this database (38,000 measurements). This process is still ongoing but a preliminary version is available through this web site. If you wish to get a hold of the database, please contact contact Guy.
