Assignments

  1. (due Monday, Jan. 25) Exercise 2.8.1, parts (a), (b) and (c). Part (d) is not required but can be done for extra credit, if desired. You can download the required time series here.
  2. (due Wednesday, Feb. 3) Exercises 3.1.1 and 3.1.2. Click to download the quake 1 times and the quake 2 times and the meteor times.
  3. (due Wed. 2/17) Aster et al. exercise 4.3 (tomography problem). Please work on this together (as a group) and turn in one assignment for the whole class. If you need more time, let me know. Part (e) only. If desired, do other parts for extra credit. The files can be obtained in this directory. Chapter 4 of Aster et al. can be downloaded here.
  4. (due Mon. 3/1) Exercise 5.2.1 (backprojection problem). The data file can be obtained here.
  5. (due Mon. 3/8) Exercise 6.2.1.
